1992 Sunday 26th July.

The first event attracted 50 exhibitors and approximately 2000 visitors. The event programme was produced by our members, it had simple typed text which was photocopied, folded and stapled.

We had one main marquee plus two smaller tents, tables and chairs were borrowed from the Town Hall, the power supply was a single extension cable from the onsite greenhouses.

The Sports area was an open field.

A fact not many people know, is that my son Gavin and I used a 5 metre tape measure and a tin of white emulsion paint to mark out the exhibitors spaces about an hour before everyone arrived. As a contrast DAD 2003 took a team of over thirty volunteers five days to set up and mark out the exhibition areas.
