DAD Paralympic Sports Zone for 2011This year the sports zone will have a theme to include the 'Paralympics Games 2012'. The Paralympic Sport Zone at DAD will be bigger and better than ever with more activities planned. Activities this year include: Climbing WallA climbing wall provided by Lister Logic ltd, the climbing wall will be held in the Paralympic sports zone to give people the opportunity to experience climbing. This year there will be a specific time slot set aside which will allow wheelchair users to try the wall and experience the thrill of climbing. The time allocated for wheelchair users is between 1:00pm and 2:30 pm.ArcheryCome and try archery! Archery is fun and exciting and offers people the chance to have a go at a skill that requires both concentration and accuracy.Wheelchair Basketball ShootingThis activity is provided by WDP Wizards (WDP Wheelchair Basketball Team). WDP Wizards will have a small team of juniors who will support the basketball zone on the day.National Small Bore Rifle AssociationThere will be rifle shooting taking place within the Sports Zone providing shooting for all but aimed at disabled people with a visual impairment. The GBSBRA are a National Governing Body based in Woking, Surrey.CybaquaIn our onsite swimming pool we will be providing taster scuba dives so you can try out this exciting sport. A hoist and changing room facility will be available on site. Please book a place and fill out a medical questionnaire prior to this activity. This will be run by the sports zone volunteers.Body ZorbingThe NSPCC will be offering 'come and try' sessions for this exciting new activity called Body Zorbing. The Zorbs are large inflatable balls in which the occupant gets inside and rolls around the area. There are a number of sporting activities which can be undertaken with this new concept.National Governing BodiesThe Paralympic Sports Zone will have representation from the National Governing Bodies of Disability Sport to give information on participation and clubs which are delivering the legacy of London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics games.
