DAD Week 2013

The week leading up to Disability Awareness Day is always packed with supporting events.These are the events planned for 2013.

Saturday 6th July

10.30am - 4.30pm Launch of DAD 2013 at the Old Market Place, Golden Square Warrington Town Centre. An Arts Showcase will launch a week of disability related events in the build-up to this year's main event. Featuring disabled artists and friends of DAD, Free Admission

Tuesday 9th July

9.30am - 12.30pm Positive Action Awareness Event in Walton Hall. Students from schools across the area will attend our annual interactive awareness event aimed at dispelling myths and misconceptions associated to disability and disabled people. Invitation Only - Derek Jones 01925 240064.

6.30pm - 10.00pm Frogtastic in the Park in the Arts Marquee, Walton Gardens. Featuring Ace Tributes Robbie & Kylie plus special guests and lots more. Wednesday 10th July

12.30pm - 3.30pm Ignite Your Life - Mental Health and Wellbeing Workshops & Exhibition in the Arts Marquee, Walton Gardens. 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust invites you to joined them for a day of workshops and activities complimentary therapies, healthy eating, drumming, art and crafts, Tai Chi, Sports, chill out zone and support groups and services. 7.00pm - 10.00pm Theatre in the Marquee in the Arts Marquee, Walton Gardens. Live performance of Bram Stoker's'sDracula from the Heartbreak Theatre Company. Thursday 11th July

12noon- 2.00pm Bishop of Warrington's Business Lunch in Walton Hall. In partnership with Mission in the Economy. Invitation Only - Contact Rev Jean Flood 0151 709 6908.

1pm - 4pm Tea in the Tent in the Arts Marquee, Walton Gardens. Wired, and their Young Carers Service and Warrington Carers Centre invite carers and their cared for, with live entertainment and light refreshments. Support with transport available. 5pm - 8.30pm Party in the Park in the Arts Marquee, Walton Gardens. A partnership of local children and young people's support groups present a fun filled evening for disabled children, disabled young people, their families and friends. Friday 12th July

Sunday 14th July

10am - 5pm Disability Awareness Day in Walton Gardens Europe's largest voluntary led disability exhibition. Over 250 exhibitors from voluntary, statutory, private and business organisations with hundreds of ideas for independent living supported by a fun packed day out for all the family.
