About WarringtonFrom the point of view of disability access and facilities Warrington is not unlike most towns and cities in the UK, it has some good points and it has some bad ones, our public transport systems really do need to be brought in line with the twenty first century. On the plus side it is a town that is relatively flat, it is said that we are situated at the bottom of a valley or the Cheshire plains, this makes physical access easier. But our biggest asset has to be the awareness and public spirit that supports disability issues as a whole in the town.If you look at the list of supporters and sponsors for DAD you can see for yourself that we have a community to be proud of, a community that works together. The local Borough Council, Primary Care NHS Trust, Collegiate Institute, Guardian newspaper and Orbit News have been just some of our allies in the quest for Access for All. |
