Positive Action Awards

The Positive Action Awards provide an opportunity for disabled people living in the Northwest to nominate employers, businesses, service providers or individuals that deserve recognition for promoting independence, delivering accessible and/or inclusive services, or maintaining exemplary employment practices for disabled people.

The Positive Action Awards are provided through a collaborative involving the Warrington Disability Partnership and the sponsors and supporters of Disability Awareness Day which is recognised internationally as Europe’s and probably the world’s largest user led independent living event.

Event organiser and founder/chair of Warrington Disability Partnership Dave Thompson MBE DL said "Disabled people make a valuable economic contribution to our region and it is vital that we recognise this and that we create an environment that allows them to fulfil their potential. The Positive Action Awards recognise the outstanding efforts shown by individuals and organisations in removing barriers to participation”.

Positive Action Awards 2017 will be announced at the world-famous Disability Awareness Day which takes place on Sunday 16th July at Walton Hall & Gardens in Warrington. Nominations are now being accepted and the Awards will be open for entry until Friday 12th June
