DAD Week 2021

The week leading up to DAD is always full of exciting and interesting events.

Monday 6th September

10am – 1pm – Making Warrington Disability Confident
Walton Hall & Gardens: Buffet lunch included. A workshop for ALL local employers to develop an inclusive approach to welcoming employees back to the workplace. You will receive advice on working safely with Covid-19, welcoming disabled employees back to the workplace, supporting employees with Long-Covid and understanding reasonable adjustments and the financial support available to support this under the Government's Access to Work scheme. We will also explain the financial, operational and social benefits that being a Disability Confident employer can bring to your business – the bottom line. Delivered by experts from Warrington Disability Partnership and Job Centre Plus this FREE event will provide the information needed to support your staff in making their places of work healthier. Wednesday 8th September

10.30am – 3.30pm Ignite your Life!
Arts Marquee, Walton Gardens: Mental Health and wellbeing event. Come and join Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust to celebrate health and wellbeing with inclusive workshops and talks for all to join in. Find out about becoming a volunteer and there will be opportunities to meet some of the team. Free refreshment will be available throughout the day. 6.30pm – 9pm WDP 30th Year Celebrations
Arts Marquee, Walton Gardens: Supporters past and present will be invited to a celebration of the thirty year journey of Warrington Disability Partnership and Disability Awareness Day. Invitation only event.

Thursday 9th September

10am- 2.00pm – Carers and Families Wellbeing Day
Arts Marquee, Walton Gardens: WIRED Carers present an event to thank carers with health and wellbeing activities including massage, mindfulness, music, arts and crafts, dance,walking, and a picnic. Free admission, registration needed please email Fiona to let us know or Contact her 01925 633492.

5.00pm- 9.00pm – Party in the Park for disabled children, young disabled people, young carers and young adult carers
Arts Marquee, Walton Gardens: A collaboration between Warrington Disability Partnership, Warrington Wolves Foundation, Warrington Youth Club and WIRED Young Carers present a fun filled evening. Multi Sports (including football, rugby league, parachute games, bowling, mini golf, basketball, the Great WYC Sports Challenge and Olympic/Paralympic sports), Arts, Dance, chat and chill out, crafts (cake decorating, Art Attack, Friendship Bracelets, WYC photoshoot), Karaoke, Music, Silent Disco and fun areas. Friday 10th September

7.30pm - 11.30pm DAD Mega Quiz Night, Charity Auction with Hot Food
Arts Marquee, Walton Gardens: Teams of up to eight people, hundreds of £'s worth of prizes, fun quiz, great food, licensed bar and a charity auction. Tickets £8.00 (includes hot food). Contact Ellen on 01925 240064.

Sunday 12th September

10am - 4pm the Big Event – 30th Disability Awareness Day
Walton Hall Gardens: World’s largest voluntary led pan disability exhibition. Free admission
