Disability Awareness Day 2018

Disability Awareness Day has five strands interwoven into a colourful, inspiring, fun and informative day out.

Exhibition

Nearly 500 spaces will be taken by our exhibitors including organisations from the voluntary, statutory and business sectors all working to a common goal of "Promoting Independence Throughout Life & Work", with support groups and services, equipment, transport, technology, holidays, benefits, employment, education, training, mobility, leisure, recreation, sport and much more.

Sports Zone

The DAD Sports zone offers chances to ‘have a go’ at participating in Scuba Diving in our on-site pool with kit and instructors from Cheshire Scuba Academy, Wheelchair Fencing, Archery, Golf, Boxing, Tennis, wheelchair Basketball, wheelchair Rugby, Martial Arts, Tai chi, New Age Curling, Small Bore Rifle Shooting, multi sports activities and the climbing wall. All activities are supported by qualified coaches and instructors. The Sports Zone is sponsored by Active Cheshire and Gladstone Brooks. Plus there will be information on how you can get involved in local weekly in activities.

Arts

There is an exciting programme of performing arts in the Arts Marquee with audience seating for up to 600 people. This year our line up includes internationally acclaimed Carly Ryan, nationally acclaimed Ella Together and Warrington BSL Signing Choir and much much more.

The Main Arena

The Main Arena line up for 2018 includes the Guide Dog display Team, Vale Royal Falconry and the Warrington Pipe Bands and much much more.

For the Children

Children's Entertainment includes something for all abilities with all the fun of the fair provided by Chadwick's Family Fairground Rides. Walton Hall Rangers will be pleased to see you visiting the Walton Hall Zoo.

As you can see it will be an action packed day for those many thousands of people who make their way to Walton Hall Gardens on the 15th!
